1. Cut three 3-yard lengths of red wire and follow the instructions on the Wire Twister to twist them together.
2. Attach the 8mm mandrel to the Jump Ring Maker and use it to coil the twisted wires.
3. Remove the coil from the Jump Ring Maker and use wire cutters to cut the rings apart. Make a total of 54 rings. Separate them into 18 groups of three.
4. Link each group of three rings to another group of three rings. Continue until you've used all 54 rings.
5. Cut a 4" length of gold wire and fold the end to form a stopper. Pass it through a bead frame with a red bead inside and make a wrapped loop to connect it to a red ring in the center of the red chain.
6. Attach a gold eye pin loop to a gold Quick Links™ ring and pass the pin through an ivory bead; repeat for four units. Make a basic loop to attach one to a red ring on the sections of the red chain as shown: 3rd from left, 7th from left, 11th from left, 15th from left.
7. Remove two rings from the gold rolo chain to use them as spacer beads in this step. Cut a 3" gold wire length and fold the end to form a stopper. Pass it through a 4mm red bead, gold ring, turquoise bead. Make a wrapped loop to attach it to the fifth red ring unit from left. Repeat to make a matching dangle and attach it to the 13th unit from left.
8. Cut a 2" gold wire length and fold the end to form a stopper. Pass it through a red ceramic bead and make a wrapped loop to attach it to the first red ring unit on the red chain. Repeat to make a matching dangle and attach it to the last red unit on the red chain.
9. Decide how long you want the necklace to be when finished. Subtract the length of the red chain and clasp from the total desired length. Cut two pieces of gold chain to the appropriate length to complete the necklace.
10. Attach one end of each gold chain to the ends of red chain as shown, then attach half of the clasp to each end of the necklace. |
