I have been a needlework and beading designer for the past twenty years. So far I’ve written 99 how-to beading and needlework booklets, two full length beading books and hundreds of magazine articles. I hold five patents for new product designs. My degree is in art education and I have been an art teacher, art therapist, farmer and professional designer. My husband and I sell at retail bead shows in the Midwest. We are full time RV’ers and travel the country. My inspiration comes from many places. Beads and cabochons ‘talk’ to me. I can generally pick up an article and see it in a piece of jewelry. Sometimes I’m attracted by a color or a shape. Patterns in nature also inspire me. My biggest accomplishment as a jewelry designer is the completion of two 128 page books on beading. My favorite beading technique is right angle weave. My second favorite would be square stitch because it reminds me of cross stitch.
