Add Paper Stash to Your Jewelry

Mixed media is such a big trend in jewelry making right now, and it's easy to get started. In this Beading Lesson, I'll show you some simple ideas that will make you want to raid your paper stash!
Bezels are empty surfaces with rims that typically provide settings for cabochons, but they can also be used to hold paper images. A circle template makes it easy to trace and cut out your pictures. You can protect the image with resin or by covering it with a glass or acrylic dome.
But you aren't just limited to bezels! Think about adding paper images to any flat surface in your jewelry designs. The backs of metal components, shell pendants and flat wooden beads are all fair game.
To attach a paper image using an acrylic sealant like DiamondGlaze, brush the glaze onto the surface of the beading component. Then, place your image onto the surface and brush glaze over it. Let it dry completely before incorporating it into your jewelry design.
