1. Attach silver plated wire to a 9mm jump ring, add a crimp tube and back to crimp tube and crimp it;
2. Attach two strands of gold plated wire to one jump ring, add one #3 crimp tube and crimp it; both strands will be attached and crimped together;
3. Start braiding the 3 strands together until it gets to your desired length; finish repeating steps 1 and 2;
4. Slide one of the ends through a second 9mm jump ring, close gently; then attach one 9mm jump ring to the round magnetic clasp and this one to the necklace end; repeat the same to finish the other half of your necklace;
Making the dramatic fringe:
1. Cut 12 lengths of .013” Beadalon 49 strands 24k gold wire that measure 5”;
2. Cut 11 lengths of .018” Beadalon 49 strands silver plated wire that measure 5”;
3. Make the center fringe using one pre-cut length of gold plated wire folding it half through the necklace structure (braided necklace);
4. Hold both ends together and feed a small crimp tube and crimp it against the necklace structure:
5. Separate strands and in one side string a small crimp tube, a round crystal, one 8mm crystal Dorado bicone crystal and one of the column pendant, go back through the bicone and round crystal, back through the crimp tube and crimp it; trim excess wire; leave this fringe a little longer so you can spotted the center of your necklace easily;
6. String one round crystal, one 4mm white alabaster bicone and one 6mm light Colorado topaz bicone crystal into the other half of fringe, add a crimp tube and crimp it and then trim excess wire;
This will give you the look that you will be assembling throughout the necklace structure;
7. Start repeating steps 5 and 6 to add beads following suggested pattern below:
* Alternate beading wire colors: silver, gold, silver gold;
* Alternate sizes and colors of bicone crystals;
* Use some 8mm crystal bicones to be on top of fringe, so you will hold pre-cut of wire together and feed a 8mm bicone bead through it crimping after the bead and then you separate both strands as was shown on steps 5 and 6;
* The necklace is asymmetrical so it’s not important that you mimic the beads pattern but it’s important that you keep 9 fringes on the right side and 22 fringes on the left side; remember that the first fringe is your guide so you will be working from the center;
* Once adding column pendants keep two on the right side and 3 on the left side; if you place one on each far ends will be easier to randomly place the other 3 left;
* Use image shown here as your g color guide and have fun! |
