Tip:
When choosing beads for macrame, be sure to select beads that have large enough holes for the cords to pass through.
1. Hold the suede lace pieces together at one end. Fold the ends through a large jump ring by 1/2." Wrap a piece of craft wire tightly 6-8 times around the suede lace below the fold. Twist the ends together. Use chain nose pliers t0 tighten the twist and press the wire ends in toward the suede.

2. Arrange the strands so the longer strands are on the outside and the shorter strand is on the inside. Use the outer strands to tie a square knot around the inner strands. String a wooden bead and tie another square knot. Follow this alternating knot/bead pattern for nine wooden beads.

3. Tie another square knot. String the doughnut onto the inside strand. Wrap the suede lace around the doughnut and through the hole again. Thread the suede lace end through the last knot, then tie another square knot.

4. Repeat the alternating knot/bead pattern for nine wooden beads. Fold the ends through a large jump ring and wrap them with wire to secure the ends. Use a small jump ring to attach the round part of the clasp to one end of the necklace. Open the large jump ring on the other end of the necklace and attach the toggle bar.
