PROJECT TIP:
A. This watchband fits a 7 wrist. If you need to adjust the pattern, each complete stitch is a little less than half an inch.
B. This project calls for flattening the crimp beads with needle nose pliers. A crimping tool would typically be recommended, but this clasp requires an exception. Flatten the crimps carefully to avoid cutting through the wire.
|
1. Cut one 9 length of .018 beading wire.
2. Pass the wire through one side of the watch face so its centered inside the loops.
3. Pass each wire end through a gray bead, then pass the wire ends through opposite sides of a black bead to close the stitch.
4. Repeat Step 3 to make four more stitches.
5. Pass each wire end through a gray bead, a hole on the clasp and a crimp bead. Use needle nose pliers to flatten the crimp beads. Cut off any extra wire.
6. Cut a 6 length of .015 beading wire.
7. Pass the wire through one side of the watch face so its centered inside the loops.
8. Pass the wire through the first gray bead on the watchband, then pass it through a purple bead, then through the next gray bead on the outside of the stitch. Repeat this technique to add a purple bead to the outside edge of each stitch.
9. Repeat Step 8 to add a purple bead to the other side of each stitch.
10. Pass the wire ends through the last gray beads, a hole on the clasp and a crimp bead. Use needle nose pliers to flatten the crimp beads. Cut off any extra wire.
11. Repeat Steps 1-10 to make a matching band for the other side of the watch face.
